About Us

St. Bakhita's Ebusiratsi Girls Senior School

St. Bakhita’s Ebusiratsi Girls Senior School was founded in 1974 by the Catholic Diocese of Kakamega as a secondary school offering both day and boarding education. Over the years, the institution has experienced remarkable growth, with major improvements in infrastructure, academic facilities, staffing, school management, and overall learning resources, creating a supportive and high-quality learning environment.

Initially registered as a single-stream mixed day and boarding school, the institution experienced steady growth in student enrolment over the years, leading to its expansion into a three-stream school. In 2010, the school transitioned into a full boarding mixed school, and by 2014, the planned phase-out of boys was successfully completed. This milestone marked the institution’s full transformation into a girls’ boarding secondary school.

Currently, St. Bakhita’s Ebusiratsi Girls Senior School is officially registered as a three-stream County Boarding Girls Secondary School under Registration Number GP/A/2092/2002. The school is also an accredited examination centre (Centre No. 618105) and serves a student population of approximately 640 girls. Assessments are underway to elevate the school to Extra-County status in the near future.

Every day at the St. Bakhita’s Ebusiratsi Girls Senior School is like a blessing with the active students and talented staff members around.
